A special board meeting of the Maricopa County Community College District Governing Board was scheduled to be held at 5:30 p.m. at the District Support Services Center in Tempe, Arizona, pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431.02, notice having been duly given.

I. SPECIAL BOARD MEETING

CALL TO ORDER
President Crowley called the Special Board Meeting to order at 5:35 p.m.

A. ADMINISTRATION OF OATH OF OFFICE TO: COLLEEN CLARK, ELECTED GOVERNING BOARD MEMBER, DISTRICT 1, AND DONALD R. CAMPBELL, RE-ELECTED SGOVERNING BOARD MEMBER, DISTRICT 5

Shelley Randall, a certified notary public, administered the oaths of office to new Governing Board Member Colleen Clark and re-elected Governing Board Member Donald R. Campbell. A copy of their signed oaths is included with these minutes.

B. ELECTION OF GOVERNING BOARD OFFICERS FOR
CALENDAR YEAR 2006

President Crowley declared the vacancy of the office of President of the Maricopa County Community College District Governing Board and called for nominations. Governing Board Member Don Campbell proposed the nomination of Governing Board Member Linda Rosenthal for the office of President. There being no further nominations, President Crowley closed the nominations and called a motion to approve. Motion approved 4-0-1 (Mr. Walker abstained).

President Crowley declared the vacancy of the office of Secretary of the Maricopa County Community College District Governing Board and called for nominations. Governing Board Member Linda Rosenthal proposed the nomination of Don Campbell for the office of Secretary. There being no further nominations, President Crowley closed the nominations and called a motion to approve. Motion approved 4-0-1 (Mr. Walker abstained).

C. ADJOURNMENT OF SPECIAL BOARD MEETING

President Campbell adjourned the special meeting of the Governing Board and announced that the Board would to go into Executive Session immediately following the special board meeting. The Special Board Meeting adjourned at 5:37 p.m.
