- The Governing Board has the sole authority to approve any settlement amount exceeding $100,000.
- The Chancellor and the General Counsel are empowered by the Governing Board to approve the settlement of pending and threatened claims and lawsuits as follows:
- After consultation with the General Counsel or designated Associate General Counsel, the Chancellor has authority to approve any settlement amount greater than $25,000 and up to $100,000.
- The General Counsel or designated Associate General Counsel has authority to approve any settlement amount up to $25,000.
- As soon as practicable, the Office of General Counsel will inform the Chancellor and the Governing Board of the general nature and amount of any settlement entered into pursuant to paragraph A or B above.
- A quarterly report shall be submitted to the Governing Board outlining the settlements that were made directly by the Chancellor and the General Counsel or designated Associate General Counsel.
